Built on Intel’s trusted Xeon E5-2600 v3 or v4 processor family, the R730xd supports dual CPUs, offering up to 44 processing cores and substantial headroom for virtualized workloads, large-scale databases, and business-critical applications.

One of the standout features of the R730xd is its storage density and flexibility. It can be configured with up to 24 front-mounted 2.5” drives (SAS, SATA, SSD, or NVMe options), or 12 x 3.5” drives, depending on storage needs. Additionally, it offers rear drives, hybrid storage configurations, and flexible RAID controller options (PERC H730/H830), making it ideal for software-defined storage and tiered storage solutions.

With up to 24 DDR4 DIMM slots, the R730xd supports up to 3TB of memory (with LRDIMMs), enabling efficient performance across memory-intensive applications such as in-memory databases, virtualization clusters, and real-time analytics.

The server also features redundant hot-swappable power supplies, advanced cooling, and extensive I/O expansion options, including up to 7 PCIe Gen3 slots, enabling additional NICs, RAID cards, or GPU accelerators.
